Bio

I have been teaching at Springville Elementary since 2006.  Prior to being at Springville I taught at Pinson Elementary in Jefferson County for 10 years in 3rd grade.  My husband and I live in Springville and enjoy small town life.

My husband is a retired Army Infantry soldier and does volunteer work for local veterans and the local VFW in addition to being a college student pursuing a degree in psychology.  I am very proud of my husband and his service to this great country.

My mother and father live in Springville near us and I am blessed with the privilege that they are still an inspiration in my life and play a large role in the lives of my children.

I feel as if the school is my home away from home.  I absolutely love this community for so many reasons that it would be impossible to list all of them.  My husband and I have 8 children, all boys and only 1 girl.  I have a 2 year old baby boy and my two sons from a previous marriage.  These boys are the light of my life!  My other 5 children are wonderful, and our house is full of laughter and love.  Our oldest son who is now a senior at SHS has already taken his oath with the US Army and is enrolled in the Future Soldier Program along with AP classes at SHS.  He will be joining the Infantry, Ranger and Airborne Schools at Ft. Benning after graduating in May of 2017.  We are extremely proud of him!

I attended UAB for my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education.  I attended the University of South Alabama for my Gifted Certification.  Teaching is not just a job, it's a calling. I love my students. I enjoy the relationships that are built between the families and myself over the four years that I teach the students in my gifted resource class.
